Celenic Earth Publications is happy to announce a new novel that will be hitting the online stands soon. The Oracle Runes 1: Nornien Odyssey is the first epic fantasy novel to be written by Debbie Stansfield, and is the first book in a trilogy that will be released.
Debbie has been working on this trilogy for many years. In fact, we were there when she first started writing it. It is such a pleasure to finally see this volume being published like it should in the hands of a proper publisher, and not lying dormant in the hands of a company that is now defunct and being hunted down for scamming thousands of writers.
Now that that is out of the way, we are proud to say that the ebook and paperback will be released on 17 February 2020, and you have the chance to preorder it now through the Book’s page in our Library or on Amazon. There are options for South Africans to purchase through PayFast, or international buyers to use PayPal.
If you would like to read more on Debbie and her author website, feel free to follow this link.
Here we are with a new year. New beginnings, new goals to achieve. There is a new energy on the horizon and we can feel the fire burning.
As mentioned before, Celenic Earth Publications opens up on 13 January 2020. This doesn’t mean we’ve been idle. We’ve been receiving requests from a handful of new writers to be published. This year we are hoping to see more books being published by us, and another try at our Celenic Earth Anthologies volumes of short stories.
This year will also see an expansion of our other divisions, especially the Game and Film divisions. We will be scoping out more of the game writing and screenwriting industries to see where there are more opportunities for our writers.
For now, we are just enjoying the final days of the holidays before things kick into high gear. We hope to hear from all of you soon for a very ambitious, successful year.
A wonderful event happened two years ago on 14 October 2017. After working since July on getting a volume together to beat the Guinness World Record of 50 writers in one volume, we finally released a volume with 109 writers!!
And to celebrate further, we are placing the Volume on sale. The ebook is on sale from $7.99 to $0.99 on Amazon, while the paperback price will be lowered from R350 to R300 for this month only. So make sure you head on over to our celebration page to make sure to make the most of this discount!
After a long holiday during June, we are happy to announce that our online doors are again open for business!!
Even though we had our virtual doors closed, it doesn’t mean some work wasn’t happening in the background. Here are some of the things that happened that you may have missed:
$1 SALE FOR CEA GREATEST ANTHOLOGY WRITTEN (108 SHORT STORIES)
In an effort to reach more sales towards having our world record anthology verified by Guinness World Records, who require a certain amount of copies sold for verification, we’ve dropped the ebook price to $1 on Amazon.
This means that you can get all 108 short stories in 1 volume for a ridiculous low price of $1! Nowhere in the world will you ever see such a bargain, considering that this is the world’s largest collection of short stories at the lowest price.
So if you’re keen on supporting us while receiving a massive volume of stories, head on over to Amazon to get your copy today:
For the past few months we’ve been working on our latest science fiction anthology, CEA Into the Beyond Volume 2. Our plan was originally to publish it in June 2019, but due to a lack of interest by writers we have postponed having the publication of this volume. We would prefer having more stories within the book, and thereby better quality for the readers, than issuing a volume with only a few stories.
As far as our other anthologies are concerned, we have received some interest in other genre volumes and will be spending the next month or so working on a story list for them. Keep an eye out on our Anthology page, and if you are interested in submitting a short story for one of them, feel free to complete the form on our submission page.
DEBBIE STANSFIELD – THE NORNIEN ODYSSEY: BOOK 1 OF THE LEGENDS OF THE ORACLE RUNES
It’s full steam ahead with Stansfield’s republishing of her fantasy novel, The Nornien Odyssey. Her book will be taking our full attention over the next weeks as we try and bring it to completion as quickly as possible.
We will be keeping you updated with news on our social media channels, so look out for more info in time to come. There are 2 more books in the series to come, and we still have a host of writers ready to be published this year.
SHAUN M JOOSTE – SILENT HILL: OBVERSION & MALUM: RISE OF THE DEADLY SINS
Author Shaun M Jooste is still keen on having both his upcoming horror and dark fantasy novels published at the same time. Silent Hill: Obversion follows on from his debut horror novel, Silent Hill: Betrayal, with its own story. There is only a vague link between the two, which will be left up to the readers to discover.
To-date, Silent Hill: Betrayal is our number one bestselling book, with sales coming in every month. Silent Hill: Obversion is our most anticipated release of 2019, which is why we setup a pre-order mechanism for those who are interested in ordering their copy so long. There is also a SHO Newsletter for those who want more insights and sneak peeks into the upcoming release.
Malum: Rise of the Deadly Sins is a dark fantasy novel which is inspired by the Diablo game series. The author wanted to delve into the dark fantasy realm, starting with Rise of the Deadly Sins. He has already written five of the starting chapters and is proceeding at a steady pace to have the novel released at the same time as Silent Hill: Obversion.
If you would like to keep up to speed with these novels, make sure to visit Jooste’s blog and sign up for updates.
AUTHOR MENTOR STUDIOS – FICTION NOVEL WRITING DEVELOPMENT COURSE
Our Training and Development section is open for new training for 2019. AMS is taking in 30 students in their latest training course, which focuses on the development and writing of fiction novels.
If you would like to have a look at the course content and fees, feel free to browse the landing page:
THE SPACE DRIFTER SCREENPLAY SEEKING FILM PRODUCTION
Our screenwriting division, Celenic Filmwriting Studios, is now actively seeking production for Shaun M Jooste’s 2015 science fiction script, The Space Drifter. The script was nominated at the 2015 Cinequest Screenwriting Competition by the judges as having great potential, and was awarded the 2017 Logline of the Year.
We have always been proud of the fact that even though we are based in South Africa, we have been able to publish work from writers all over the world, and have them available anywhere in the world.
However, a problem has been identified in the South African market. When South Africans want to order books from online stores such as Amazon, the shipping costs are usually more than the price of the books themselves. If they are lucky enough to find the books in our local bookshops, the prices are so high compared to local writers, that they are dissuaded from purchasing them.
No matter where they order it from, it is just too expensive.
This creates a roll-on effect for the publisher. Not only can their books not succeed in the South African market, but they had to reduce their royalties just to lower the retail price of their books.
And this is where we come in. Being based in South Africa, we are able to offer a publishing arrangement where we assist in bringing your books to South Africa, online and in bookstores, in a way that makes it cheaper for the readers and brings in more royalties for the writers.
We would love to represent you and your books here in South Africa. And in order for us to present this offer to you, we invite you to visit our International Relations page, where we set out our services and where you can complete and submit a query for our consideration.
So if you would like to know more about making your books more available to South Africans, feel free to let us know.
We’ve been threatening to redo our website ever since we expanded our business model last year. We moved from simply publishing books to, well, so much more. Our site still only showed books that we published, and much of what we had taken on as a company was lost to the audience.
Well, no more…
As you can see by our menu bar, we do so much more than publishing books now. We have spread across much of the writing industry, incorporating other entertainment media such as games, movies, music, and also included writing news, opportunities and training.
You may think that we have taken on so much more, but we’ve actually been managing all these divisions over the last year. All we have done is increased efficiency by bringing it all together and managing it under one roof.
Our home page explains everything we do now, but for ease of reference, here are our branches within Celenic Earth Publications:
Celenic Book Publishers: publication of novels, novelettes and short story anthologies, mainly fiction, as well as adaptation of games or movies into books.
Celenic Game Studios: partnering with game developers to supply writers for game stories, as well as adaptation of novels or movies into games. CGS also releases news on games and the gaming industry, namely on AIR Entertainment.
Celenic Film Studios: partnering with movie producers to supply screenwriters for film scripts, as well as adaptation of novels or games into films.
Celenic Music Studios: partnering with music producers to supply lyrical writers for songs, as well as integration of music into films and games through our partners.
Celenic Comic Central: publication of comic books, comic strips for magazines and newspapers, and celebrating comic developers around the world.
Celenic News Publishers: key focus on news with regards to writers and the writing industry, with a focus on newsletters and magazines.
Feel free to browse our website. We will be updating our social media in the next few days to incorporate all our branches, as well as releasing new logos for our new brands, so watch our for news on that.
Final note: We are aware that the site may not spread over the width of computer screens at the moment, but our techies are on it!
Celenic Earth Publications is happy to announce that our second fantasy anthology is finally available for Pre-order! We have been working hard the last month to finalise our second fantasy collection, and we hope that it will bring as much success as the first CEA Past your Reality volume did, outselling all our other anthologies except for CEA Greatest Anthology Written, our world record anthology of 108 short stories.
Right now the pre-order of the ebook is available on Amazon while we set things up with our other distributors. Both the ebook and paperback will launch on Monday 12 November 2018. So make sure you don’t miss out.
Here are the writers and their stories:
Cynthia and Roy C. Booth– No Good Deed Goes Unbetrayed
Donna Marie West – Dorothy and the Orbs
Grannd Kane – Stranger’s Shadow
Angelique Pacheco – Psychedelic Mystery Solvers
Natalie Rivener – A Snake for Argannon: A Scroll of Yrthull’s End
Ryhen Knight – Odin is Coming

We will be setting up the CEA Past your Reality Volume 2 page shortly, and will let you know once you can have a look at it and order directly from us or through our distributors online, from anywhere in the world!
You must be wondering why I am posting about a game on my author’s blog and not just keeping it on AIR Entertainment or Steemit.
Well, that is because I am very much involved with the game as a writer and a voice actor. I have been working on some short stories for the game’s website. I am also pretty excited to get started on some novels based on the game’s lore.
One thing at a time though. For now, we are focusing on the Kickstarter campaign that has been setup. The funds will help push through the final stages of development and towards publishing the game, first on PC and then hopefully on console.
Here’s a small write-up of the game:
“Neon Sword is an open world 3rd person top down action roleplay game with elements of business simulation. The non-linear story has multiple choices that effect the world around you leading you down many paths; the person you become is shaped by your decisions made within the game.
Another crime goes unsolved in the city that is the cesspit of humanity! Well, not if you have any say in the matter as you start a personal crusade of revenge. Are you the hunter or the hunted? You will turn Quaid City upside down hosing the streets clean of the human vermin that infest the dark shadows out of the neon glare. Shape the destiny of Quaid City.
Do you use commerce or violence as your weapons of choice? Purchase and manage businesses to get on the property ladder and build your income. Manage a deep and vibrant economy in a dynamic world that evolves around your every action. Strive to bring order to a city in the depths of despair. Will you be businessman or the ultimate bounty hunter? Customizing your character for the perfect kill with scores of weapons, skills and accessories that allow you to bring swift justice to the factions that stand between you and sweet revenge.
The time has come to wield the Neon Sword.”
Very exciting indeed. I cannot wait for you all to try this game out. The lore is kind extensive, which led me to writing the short stories and novels in the first place. I am just grateful that PeaHead Games gave me this opportunity.
I will keep you updated on the game and story development. For now, please visit the Kickstarter page. Here is the video for the event.
For those of you who have been eagerly awaiting the release of our next horror anthology: here it is!!
We are proud to bring you our next selection of horror short stories from some new writers. Some of these writers were featured in our world record anthology, Greatest Anthology Written. And Andi Hodgetts brings us Part 2 of Stonehurt, following the introduction to this scary tale from the first CEA Through the Dark Volume!
We have some wonderful news to share. One of our Guinness World Record writers, for a short story in CEA Greatest Anthology Written, has signed up to have his work published by Celenic Earth Publications. John Irvine hales from New Zealand, and we are so pleased to have him as part of our team.
John actually signed up with us a few weeks ago, but we have slowly been getting things in place before we made any form of announcement. John’s work was with a previous publisher before, but has decided to change to working with us instead. By doing so, we have permission to not only publish his future work, but to republish all his previous work too.
For the moment, the entire collection to be published are as follows:
Man of Stone
Bucanneers, Sonneteers and Spittoons
Fast Friends Forever
You and me and cancer makes three
Ready for publication:
In the Wings:
Fur, Feathers and Feelers
Musings on Death and Life
Ships in the Night
We are very excited to begin this new journey with John and releasing these books as soon as possible. Currently we are finishing up Man of Stone for his approval and are anticipating releasing it within this month. Look out for our pre-order announcement!
And here is a quick word from John on Man of Stone:
Man of Stone
Although I fiddled with rhyming poetry over the years it was only when I returned to NZ in 1996 from a 29 year holiday in Australia that I began to write in earnest. This came about in the traditional manner… love poetry for a girlfriend. Terrible stuff really.
However, it morphed fairly quickly into observational stuff and I began to get a “feeling” for what I was doing. I met a woman on the Internet in a writer’s group who was living in Greece and after a quick trip there to meet up she decided to move to NZ. This English ex-pat was the trigger for me… this novelist/writer and embryonic poet inspired me to take stock of what I was doing and I blossomed at
A few years flashed by and I was submitting globally to online magazines and ezines and on fire. In 2005 I decided to approach a publisher in NZ with a view to publishing a collection and my Muse must have had a few drinks because the first publisher I offered my work to loved it and contracts were signed. A friend’s daughter, an art student, did some illustrations for it and soon I was a published poet.
Man of Stone was a minor success, but alas the publisher closed shop and that was the end. I wasn’t experienced enough to attack the world with the book, so it has been languishing for years now. Lucky me again… South African Publisher, Celenic Earth Publications , so we are off and running!
Thank you, Shaun Jooste!
It is a pleasure John! This is what we do. Assist writers in getting their word published and read around the world!
And finally, here is an interview done with John which we were given permission to share on our Youtube channel, with some words about John beneath it.
John Irvine was born on October 14th 1940, in working class suburb in Lower Hutt, New Zealand. Life as an only child was often lonely, more especially for a “fat kid” with no father, in spite of close family ties and an encouraging mother. His mum says he began writing poetry as a child. None survive, probably just as well!!
It was a conventional childhood and adolescence, with all the usual desperate issues associated with a post-war, testosterone-loaded young man. Girls, drinking, cars…nothing changes except the size of the cars. Working at 15 years old with no academic qualifications meant limited career options, and eventually, after an early unsuccessful marriage, the lure of Australia drew him to that marvellous country. There, on a working holiday that lasted 281⁄2 years, he drifted like a leaf on a fickle breeze. He saw a lot of the Outback from the seat of a motorcycle or from behind the wheel of an old 4WD Nissan Patrol, accompanied for twelve of those years by his beloved dog/companion, Mr Mo.
He worked at employment as he found it—selling cars, cooking, crewing on cruising yachts, managing businesses, farming and even a brief stint in Papua New Guinea operating a jungle resort. After a return to New Zealand at the end of 1996, and the cold realisation that at 56 years of age he was unemployable, he began to write. First there was love poetry, then, as time dribbled by, he began to take a retrospective look at his own life. Since meeting up with an English-born woman from Greece on the Internet 15 years ago, he has been writing short (flash) stories as well, mainly horror.
They now share an idyllic life-style on New Zealand’s picturesque Coromandel Peninsula, living in a small rural community surrounded by hills and the ocean.
He hopes to die peacefully one day without warning and minimal leakage.
Welcome to the CEP family, John!
