South Africans Can Order the Guinness World Record Anthology of 108 Stories Directly From Us

We’ve recently discovered that, despite our best marketing, South Africans are still not aware that CEA Greatest Anthology Written, our world record anthology of 108 short stories, is available here in South Africa. Celenic Earth Publications is a publishing company based in Cape Town, with distributors available to send the volume anywhere in South Africa.

Many have been wanting to buy our volume, but thought it was only available internationally on Amazon and other global leading outlets. We’re happy to remind you that this is not true. We have local distributors, which means you will save on shipping costs and not have to wait for your copy to arrive.

So if you’d to order locally, just head on over to our order page for CEA Greatest Anthology Written, go down to the Paypal or Payfast options (payfast is faster for us to process), and click on the buttons to order your copy.

We sell our A4 550-page volume directly at R300 per copy, which is a major discount from the R500 the book stores will be selling it for because of their markup prices. Also, the current Guinness World Records 2018 book out now is priced at R360 at retail stores for 256 pages, so in comparison our volume is a steal!

If you have any queries for bulk orders, kindly email us for us to prepare a special payment link for you.

2018 Celenic Earth Anthology Schedule and Submissions

Last year, we had an ambitious start to our anthology line-up when we created a monthly schedule of anthologies to be published. This was just before Guinness World Records approved our attempt at a world record for Most Authors Contributing Towards an Anthology of Short Stories and things got a bit crazy at the office. The Anthology listings were placed on hold.

This year, we want to approach this with more style. All anthologies are open for submissions, depending on which genre you are aiming for. Anthologies will be published based on demand and number of writers available, and we will continue to call for submissions until we have met our quota per anthology.

If you’re interested in having a look at our anthology collection, you can visit our Submissions page at the details. Please complete the Contact Form on that page if you’d like to discuss a certain anthology in detail.

PS, we are still busy planning the revamp of our website to include all the divisions now under Celenic Earth Publications. We want to present the ultimate experience. More details on that to come soon.

Fantasy Game Novel Heroes of Antreya: The Journey Begins Finally Available!!

And Heroes of Antreya: The Journey Begins has finally been launched!!

Despite our best intentions to have both the Paperback and Digital versions available on 15 December 2017, we had to wait for several approvals by our distributors, which only took place over this weekend.

The wait is over however. And as a special reward for your patience, we are having a launch week special, where the Paperback and Ebook copies will be on sale at $13 and $8 respectively, compared to what their normal prices will be at $17 and $10 from next week onwards.

First Antreya Chronicles Epic Fantasy Novel ‘The Journey Begins’ Set for Release on 15 December

Welcome to the first novel in the Heroes of Antreya fantasy series! Two of our writers, namely Dean Clark and Shaun M Jooste, have been working on The Journey Begins for months now while writing main and side questlines for the upcoming MMORPG epic fantasy game, Antreya Chronicles. The Journey Begins forms part of the first part of the game, and Antreya Studios graphic designers and developers are working hard to transform the literary words of these two creative writers into actual gameplay.

Do not feel that reading the gamebook novel will ruin the game experience for you though. Antreya Chronicles is a vast open world fantasy MMORPG, and players will be able to embark on many side quests, as well as choose how they want to carry out the main storyline missions. The Journey Begins brings the true plot of the game out in one, clean epic fantasy novel, revealing the essence of what the game’s tale will be.

And as the title suggests, this is only the beginning. More novels in the Heroes of Antreya series will be released in 2018, as well as spin-off novels by each of the writers. This is only the start of Antreya, which will keeping you reading and playing for decades to come.

Our pre-order page for The Journey Begins will be up by this weekend, and we will be sure to update you on our social media platforms once it is live. The expected release date is 15 December 2017 in paperback and ebook formats.

CEA Greatest Anthology, CEA Through the Dark and Hegis’ Grasp Accepted for Shirley Jackson Awards

In the middle of last month, a correspondent from the Shirley Jackson Awards for horror and psychological thriller contacted us to enquire as to whether we would like to submit any of our 2017 publications for the 2017 Awards. We had a fine look through the guidelines and requirements and found that three of our publications fit the bill:

Just a few moments ago we were notified that these publications have been accepted for consideration. CEA Greatest Anthology Written and CEA Through the Dark are placed within the Anthology categories, while Hegis’ Grasp is placed within the Novelette category. Each of them have horror and psychological thriller elements, making them our most suitable candidates for this award.

Here is some more information on the awards:

In recognition of the legacy of Shirley Jackson’s writing, and with permission of the author’s estate, the Shirley Jackson Awards have been established for outstanding achievement in the literature of psychological suspense, horror, and the dark fantastic.

Shirley Jackson (1916-1965) wrote such classic novels as The Haunting of Hill House and We Have Always Lived in the Castle, as well as one of the most famous short stories in the English language, “The Lottery.” Her work continues to be a major influence on writers of every kind of fiction, from the most traditional genre offerings to the most innovative literary work. National Book Critics Circle Award-winning novelist Jonathan Lethem has called Jackson “one of this century’s most luminous and strange American writers,” and multiple generations of authors would agree.

The Shirley Jackson Award will be voted upon by a jury of professional writers, editors, critics, and academics, with input from a Board of Advisors. The awards will be given for the best work published in the preceding calendar year in the following categories: Novel, Novella, Novelette, Short Story, Single-Author Collection, and Edited Anthology.

You can also read here for the list of jurors that will be doing the judging. Here’s wishing our publications the best of luck in these awards!

Kind regards

Major Site Revamp, Anthology Submissions, and Other Changes coming soon

Earlier in June this year, when we were still young and innocent, we set out an anthology schedule that we were determined to stick to. If we had followed that, we would have had seven anthologies published by now, which would have included the anthologies for crime, hardboiled noir, Writers without Boundaries #2, Erotica, LGBT, CEA Through the Dark #2 and a special Halloween anthology.

And then the Guinness World Record attempt was approved in July and all that changed. Our primary focus changed to finding 100 writers, accepting all the stories and getting everything ready to publish.

Further to that, we shifted from a publishing label to a registered publishing company , the difference of which is all finely spelt out in our country’s Company Registration Act and which we will not get into here. But what that meant for us was that we could branch out to other divisions, and not just focus on books, although very soon you will see that all our divisions are still primarily focussed on our books, whether they be adaptations or soundtracks to accompany our books or movies.

Celenic Game Studios was the first branch in CEP to effectively start up, even though we have yet to give it a presence on the internet. The media and press section of CGS was the first to be established, and AIR Entertainment was born, with actor, writer, guitarist and singer (to name a few talents) Andi Hodgetts owning and running this section with actor, writer, guitarist and singer (to name a few talents) Shaun M Jooste.

Celenic Game Studios has also partnered with Salty Goal Productions to start developing games in the future, while we also were approved to develop games for various platforms such as Steam, Unity, Android, PlayStation, Nintendo and Xbox. These of course are all in preparation for things to come, as our sole focus was still the Guinness World Record.

AIR Entertainment in itself has been established successfully, growing quicker than any of us could have expected. The team and site are approved media contacts for many game developers and publishers, some of which only accept elite news sites. Developers brandish the team with game review codes for various platforms quite readily now, and AIR has been approved for its own Reddit community and a featured presence on Feedly.

And all this during a trying time when the main focus was a world record. Which means that, now that the anthology is published, we can shift more focus to our other divisions and put some things into place. And the first of these is a major website revamp. This site will play host to all the divisions, which means we have to change how posts are presented completely. We want to register this site with its own domain soon, hopefully by the end of November, which is why we want all the divisions available in one site.

You will not recognise this site when it is all done.

And when this site is done, you will see the strong community we are building, where book writers can get involved with games, or game writers can get involved with film, or novels get turned into films or games, etc. 2018 really looks promising right now.

ANTHOLOGIES: THE FUTURE OF

We mentioned earlier that we had presented a schedule of anthologies to be published. We are changing our strategy slightly. Instead of booking anthologies for months to come, hoping to meet our own deadlines, we are simply going to have an open call for all 2018 anthologies soon. It will be open until such time that we have obtained sufficient writers per anthology (aiming for at least 10 per volume), upon which time we will set deadlines and then decide on publishing dates. We would still like to ensure at least 1 anthology a month to be published, but we will rather wait until we have our writers tied in and stories submitted before we agree to anything.

Having said that, even though calls will be open for writers to select which anthologies they would like to write for, we will not be publishing any further anthologies for the rest of 2017. We’ve had a good start for a publishing company that has only started up, and now is the time to start planning properly for next year.

So watch our posts for the next few days. A new site, the opening of all anthologies, and also a new writer that will be signing up with us for a new trilogy he is writing…. very exciting times ahead.

Kind regards

Pretoria FM Radio Interviews Us On Our Guinness World Record Anthology Attempt

On Friday 20 October 2017, we were interviewed by Pretoria FM about our Guinness World Record Anthology attempt. We were fortunate enough to obtain a recording of that interview and stream it on our site.

The interviewer asked questions in our Afrikaans language, while I responded in English for all of our followers and readers overseas who do not understand Afrikaans. Also, just beneath the stream below, we have transcribed the questions into English, for you to follow more easily.

Questions in English (rough translation):

Pretoria FM: Welcome to the afternoon broadcast, and a writer and publisher from Cape Town has accepted the challenge to beat a Guinness World Record for the Most Authors Contributing towards an Anthology of Short Stories. Shaun M Jooste is in the last stretch to beat this record and we have the wonderful opportunity to speak to him straight from the Cape.

Good afternoon, Shaun. It’s lovely chatting to you.

Shaun:  Good day there. How are you doing?

Pretoria FM: Fantastic thank you. I think it’s going a bit better with you as you can see Table Mountain.

Question 1: How is it going with this record attempt of yours?

Shaun: A bit stressful but going well thank you.

Question 2: It’s probably a very complicated process?

Question 3: So you had to get as many writers as possible to contribute to this anthology of short stories. How many did you need?

Question 4: And how many have you sold?

Question 5: Fantastic. So can our listeners also obtain copies and help to realise this record attempt?

Question 6: How does one go about doing that?

Question 7: And what type of stories is contained within the book?

Question 8: Oh that’s awesome. It’s actually a very good christmas present for someone who really enjoys reading.

Question 9: So one can buy it online at celenicearthpublications.wordpress.com, is that right?

Question 10: And then once you order it, is it delivered or how does it work?

Question 11: Shaun, as soon as you have broken this record please let us know. We would definitely love to chat to you again

Keep us updated. Thank you Shaun. Goodbye.

That was Shaun M Jooste, he is the owner of Celenic Earth Publications. You can buy this book of 108 writers online right now, celenicearthpublications.wordpress.com . Wow! We hope they will break this record; they must sell 1000 copies so that the record can be verified.

And that was our awesome radio interview. And in case you missed it, you can click on the book image below to read more about our anthology, or click on the yellow button to order a copy now and help us break the world record.
